Someone solemnly swore

To tell the truth

Never ever would they

Tell a lie

Never would they voluntarily

Say an untrue word

You know – Because it’s naughty

And yet somehow

They always manage

To hurt you

Not only by physical

And mental torment

But by keeping things from me

You never did tell me a lie

But you were never really earnest with me, now where you?

 

Oh. I’m sorry.

I meant they.

I meant someone who solemnly swore

Not you.

Lol, I can feel some attitude coming from this. How it changes from "someone", to being personal, then making it's way back to the main thought. Very good
