A Good Day

A Good Day

A Poem by DivineButterfly85

Waking up happy seeing my beautiful children, hugs and kisses, feeling joy for breathing and feeling each heartbeat; nothing taken for granted. Feeding my children fruit and bread; Eating with them; Walking calmly to the bathroom, taking a look into the mirror, seeing a beautiful face…no fear to escape. Gently wash my face, smiling, put facial cream on; touching up dark circles that begin to fade. Brush my hair; do something nice to feel extra special. Then leave the bathroom to go about joyfully the rest of my day. Look people in their eyes with great love and dignity. Dance instead of run, feel the life under my feet. Forget the past know it got us here today; thank it and let it be at peace, us at peace, life at peace. Coming home! Rain or shine, feeling bliss for achieving this day. Embrace my children, love them, and thank them for their blessing and joy! Go home; open the doorway, happy to be home; a safe loving home with loving cat friends also happy to see us. Pet them. Love them each day. Cook a healthy meal, happy in tune with a precious day. Communicate during dinner with my children about their dreams. After dinner we have a small special treat. I warm up a bath and gently wash my children’s hair; I ask them what the best part of their day was. After the bath, we brush our teeth. We dress into comfy pj's, and we pick two books or one long one, and get cozy into bed.  Read for fifteen minutes then spend 10-15 minutes talking about whatever they want. We kiss good night; I pull up their sheets to tuck them in. Wish them sweet and peaceful dreams goodnight. Say a prayer. Spend some quality time reading a book of mine, and then journal about my own dreams, and the best thing about my day; letting go of negativity and embracing opportunity. Washing my face gently goodnight, moisturizing, and looking in the mirror saying thank you for trying my best today; I am happy to be alive. Say goodnight to the cat friends. Turn the lights out and say another prayer thanking god for today telling him I tried my best, and to ask him to show me the way to live a peaceful and joyful life; always trying to give back to mother earth. Close my eyes and say goodnight to the moon; thank the moon for giving light at night. Sweet dreams.

Very lovely piece,Vanessa.
I adore your efforts for the assignment.
I might inspire you by asking some questions if you allow.
A family is made up of a wife,a husband and a number of children along with the pets.
In some cases, grandma and grandpa might also be found.
Some family help might also be present.
In your poem,I could not find the presence of a dad or husband.
Is it intentional?
Could you make it look more poetic?
I thought it was a story rather than a poem.
Hope to hear from you soon.
However,I love your description surrounding the family of good days.
Congratulations!!!

You are welcome
I think "A Good Day" is the definition of mom in this case!! I did get halfway though, and found the need to want to tap you on the shoulder and tell you that I haven't been introduced yet. lol This the cutest little piece. If I could recommend something, it would be "tags" so others could find this easier than I did. : ) xoxo -Mark
