I Am Perfect, Just Not To YouA Poem by Divine ShadowsAt some point, you realize their opinion doesn't matter.
Perfection seems so important,
Its something that you cant let go, Look at me through my eyes, I want to show you what I know, When I first met you, I thought things would last, I got lost in your smile, I never notice things were going to fast, At first it didn't matter to me, After all you keep insisting I looked great, But things became worst, And I started loosing out fate, Make up? I could handle that, Join Baseball? Sure who doesn't like swinging a bat, Skirt instead of jeans? Just for a couple of days, Torn shoes for heels? I guess you can have it your way, Hair up? Why should I, Better with contacts? Go die, You tried to make me perfect. But you missed something big, Look through your notes, Go ahead, dig, I'm already perfect, Just the way I am, You may think otherwise, But I don't give a damn, I don't like makeup, It takes to long, Baseball got boring, I rather listen to a song, I don't like skirts, I prefer my baggy, ripped up jeans, Heels over shoes? You've got to be kidding me, I like my hair down, Because it makes you made, Contacts or glasses? Who cares, my eyesight is still bad, These little things make me perfect, Because I'm me, And I'm not someone, You want me to be, I may not look perfect to you, Sometimes not even to me, But at least when I look in the mirror, I can see myself perfectly. © 2010 Divine Shadows |
