As the Breeze Blows

As the Breeze Blows

A Poem by Endeavor
"

A heart knows how to love --- and when to stop.

"

Swiftly and softly,

The spring breeze blows

Daisies bloom,

Violets, peonies, and the deep red rose

I ask my loved one

How he feels

I hear him sigh,

But does not speak.

Swiftly and softly,

The summer breeze blows

Fields turn to gold

While the bright sun glows

I ask my loved one

What he thinks

I hear him sigh.

But does not speak.

Swiftly and softly,

The autumn breeze blows

Maple leaves are in shades of fall

Below clouds ever sailing low

I ask my loved one

If he loves me, too

I hear him sigh

But does not speak.

Swiftly and harshly,

The winter breeze blows

Everything is frozen cold

As I am in deep sorrow

When I see my loved one

My eyes deny his presence,

I hear myself sigh

I, then, refuse to speak.
