Happily Ever After??

 

life is not a fairy tale

there is no prince charming,

waiting for the right moment

there's no perfect ending,

tying everything up in a neat bow

 

where is the fairy godmother?

I had the evil stepmother

I waited for the rescue

nobody came

no one was waving a wand,

making it better

 

is there really a man who waits?

waiting for me and me only

the perfect package

my soul mate

when does the really happen

no one will ride in on a horse

and sweep you up,

making it all better

 

Sure I read the stories

I immersed myself

I dreamed of them coming true

then reality hit

fairy tales aren't real

I have no happily ever after.

As a little girl my mother would never read me the fairy tales of prince charmings and princesses....she knew the real world didn't hold those things. As a woman I realize that she was wrong....My own prince is my soulmate...he completes the gaps in my soul I never realized were. One day you will find your own prince and realize the true meaning of him to you...he doesn't carry a sword, but he protects me none the less...
