A Horse's Comfort
The dull terrain crunched noisily under my dirt coated cowboy boots, small puffs of brown smoke lightly floating in the air with each step. The sun's rays burned down on everything in sight, leaving little shade. My feet carried me into the neutral colored stables, anxiousness shivering down my spine. Grabbing the needed equipment, I quickly walked to the farthest stall, the need for the horse's comfort funning through my veins. The animal sensed my presence before I came into view. We both felt a connection, being together always pushed away the troubling issues of the day. Leading my friend out of the stall, I didn't feel intimidated by her height, but relaxed and at peace with myself. As I finished saddling my beautiful mare, I felt my anxiousness return. With a strong grip on the horn, I vaulted myself into the leather seat and slipped my dirty old boots into the metal stir-ups. Grabbing the reins, I stayed still on the animal, taking in the feel of her fur and figure. With one single kick, I was off, my worries and cares left in the dust.
