[Untitled]A Story by strghtjcketCharacterization project
Characterization
The man walked slowly, leisurely, into the coffee shop, hands in his pocket. On the outside many bystanders would think that he wouldn't have a care in the world at this moment. How wrong they were. Worries about families, problems with work and even self-conflicts surrounded his always moving brain. Situating himself in a green and brown embroidered oak booth, out of view from the workers, he pulled out a laptop computer from work and logged on. Just the thought of working on such negative issues put a frown on his face and a wrinkle in his brow.
For about 20 minutes, he was distracted from his suddenly painful thoughts, focusing on finishing the last paragraph of his report. A phone call was all it took for all those thoughts to were at bay, to come rushing back, bringing worriment with it.
"Hello?" he asked into the small speaker of his cellular phone. He still hadn't gotten used to how these complicated contraptions worked, always asking his daughters how to work it.
"Hi Daddy!" a sweet young voice answered. A big smile appeared on his worn face at the sound.
"Hey Sweetheart. How was your first day of first grade?" He listened merrily as she exploded into a story about the activities and games she did today. There will be more problems and complications tomorrow, but for now, the joy of his daughter makes it all disappear.
