A short poem/story of someone coming to terms with things and feelings and finally escaping the cage that is depression.
She stepped out of the darkness of her thoughts and allowed the sunlight to surround her and bathe her in its warmth, aware of her feelings and aware of what was around her, finally, she felt released from the prison of cold words and thoughts that terrified her, finally, she could let out the slightest smile without shame, finally.
The imagery is amazing, I can practically see the character and the prison.
Love it!
A perfect example of personification and anaphora, even more impressive that you wrote it on command!
Hahaha, I could never (and probably still can't) write poems for assignments, they always ended up as crap.
Definitely adding this one to my library!
