Boy Who Cried ZombieA Story by NeonAcidFlowers
I don't think I've ever ran so fast in my life. My heart pounding, my feet numb. All I could think of was, GO. I couldn't go back no matter how much I wanted to..
It was a normal day. A late night up on the computer, getting up early in the morning to another miserable day at school. I don't know how the outbreak started, and I thought stuff like this only happened in movies and video games! I walked into my kitchen to find my mom and cousin were dead.. And that's how my story begins. I was shocked. They were dead.. lifeless and cold. I couldn't stand there; I ran to the house phone. I dialed 911 and put the receiver to my ear. Nothing. The phone was out. I ran outside and screamed. I screamed help. All I heard back was my echo. 'Help, help!' The wind was mocking me. I looked around, and walked to my neighbors only to discover.. nothing. No one was home. At this point I was freaking the f**k out. My only family is dead, and no one is in site. No cars, no kids, nothing. Something then quickly caught my attention. A noise from the neighbors shed. Something sounded like it had fallen and I thought maybe thats where they'd gone to. I cautiously walked over to the shed and placed my hand on the handle. As I went to open it, I noticed scratch marks on the edge, not a second later, the door busted open and a malicious creature lunged itself in my direction. It vigorously reached for me as I jumped back, fallen over, and struggled to get up, run, and get a good look at it. I got my right footing and created some distance between the thing and myself. My eyes grew wide in sight of it. It's eyes were blood-shot red, it's face looked deformed, and it's skin was paler than mine. I also noticed.. bite marks? I thought to myself, 'this is something from Goosebumps'. This "creature" that slowly crept towards me, yet simultaneously reached out awkwardly and fast, craved for my human flesh. This f****r was a zombie. "S**t!" I yelled. This is when I went into movie mode. I did a one-eighty and ran in the opposite direction, of course. I naturally thought of every single night I spent alone, (quite frequently actually) in my room, watching horror movies. And THANK GOD 99.9% of those were zombie movies. So I think with that knowledge, I knew what to do. © 2011 NeonAcidFlowers |
