Just Me and You

Just Me and You

A Poem by NeonAcidFlowers
"

the inspiration shall not be named.

"
You're a liar.
I'm a lover.
I can't understand how you are rare.
Hard to find,
and one of a kind,
like a four leaf clover.
When we met, I had high expectations.
But at the end, you just took my heart, broke it,
and left many indentations.
You emphasized your love for me,
and I appreciated it all greatly.
So I returned your lovely compliments,
and promise I really did mean them.
But you've become such a monster,
too ignorant of what love really is.
You acted out a character,
a role that's too complicated for someone like you.
I am a lover,
looking for someone to feel the way I feel,
think how I think..
I feel betrayed, and I know now you're a liar.
So you see. We will never be.
You changed when you walked out that door,
the door being a metaphor,
of our love and trust.
But there is no "our" now
because, I'm starting to hate you.
And this is what I want you to do;
take away the lies, and the goodbyes,
and the name calling, and the game playing.
Then you'd be a lover too,
we'd both be lovers,
Just me and you.
