Pour Tomber En Amour

Pour Tomber En Amour

A Poem by nihilistictablelamp

Let us concoct a poison
But
Leave it bereft of an antidote.
Let us call it love
But
Allow it to grow free
Let it grow with sublime beauty
But
Have it become extinguished in the midst of happiness
Let love flourish with magnitude
But
Let it devour one's mind
Let two people be bound
But
Make the two applicable for separation
Let time have its way with the pair
But
Promise to make the two part ways
Laissez-nous tomber en amour (Let us fall in love)
Et (And)
Prendre nos chances avec notre cassé, coeurs battant. (Take our chances with our broken, beating hearts.)

Three Cruel Words (I Love You)

"I carved our names in to a tree
Just to watch it die
Right in front of me
And I built a house for us to grow
Just to watch it burn
And I'll sever all our ties
I'll burn all the bridges
I'll do whatever it takes
To get you off my mind
But I still see you in everything
I can't stop."

From a literary aspect, I loved the duality in the whole thing. I thought the euphonious sprinkle of French in the end was beautiful.(Not because the French think they own the copyright to love. They don't. They never will). Subject-wise, I really can't find a good word to describe this in my opinion. But, I believe that asking a question to do with love is like asking: How many sandcastles were built on Daytona beach in July 7th 1976?

Highlights the beauty against the stark reality. Indeed, would lover's beginnings be so special if they didn't end. I often lament the fact that people fail to love deeply in enough in thier lives, enchanted as they are by the delusion of permenance.

I love this...Paris is the city of love...to fall in love in Paris would be a dream...I was captured by your first verse and I love the ending with the most beautiful language in the world...I love the authors note too...love never dies...only becomes a foggy distant memory...Rose
