Tears

I was watching a video online, and I found myself crying by the end. So, I just had to write.

You never know how much you miss someone
until you find yourself far, far away from them.
And though they are only a phone call, text, or Facebook message away,
you still find yourself in tears
when you see something that makes the reality of distance
sucker punch you right in the heart.
So, the tears start falling.
A lump forms in the throat.
The nose becomes runny or congested.
And the heart hurts.
Like right now.
I miss my Daddy. And though
he’s only a few hours or a phone call away,
I can’t stop these tears.

Yep... Life is hard that way. Such a simple passing thought; yet the way you have put it into words causes tears to threaten in my own eyes.
