Amen

Amen

A Story by Dipanjan Dutta

I was on the other side of the horizon. It looked rather different. The daffodils there, bloomed in the night, every night. The morning witnessed the yellow dried grass making home for the grasshoppers tired of chirping.

Bright sunny days were long gone. Clear night sky with glittering stars was history too. I listened to the howling waves and murmured to the falling leaves and wished to be free. I  waited for years in the dampness of the odd shaped box, covered with mud while human voices whispered in my ears from the distance.

Amen, they said
