Desert Wind

Desert Wind

A Poem by Luis Gabriel

Easily the horse sped fluidly, like liquid

Beautifully dodging the trees standing like

Soldiers in this arid heat zone. Thought was

Unnecessary as both horse and rider flew.

Like smoke they were there and then they were

Not. The truth is they never stayed in the same spot

Both horse and rider were one and the same and the

Wind whispered to them of love like tongues of flame.

They raced steadily through all time and space, forgetting

Completely of pain and old memories flying through centuries

Of dry desert land in a rapture of speed that was completely

Unplanned and unforeseen.

Ghosts, phantoms if you will was who they were as they enjoyed

The sudden thrill the unexplainable rush of flying, of moving and

At the same time being still. Here there was nothing to hold them

Back, there was no expected finish to that was precise or exact.

This is really mind stopping one has to read it over to get the neatness of the word flow and the meaning on a ghost rider that is not there and yet is..nicely done..I really like some of the lines..Especially the last two in the second and last grouping...God bless..Valentine
