Kings and Queens

Kings and Queens

A Poem by k.d. taylor

A collection of gasps,
A hypnosis of perception,
Outrage and outcry,
-I had a series of visions:
     Gods, oohs, and upset ahhs,
Because there’s black,
There’s white,
And there’s an offset grey.

F*****g and friendship.

I write what I hear,
I write about what’s near,
I write because,
     Just because.
Because kings rape the _______,
     And steal the _______.
Because queens love all,
     And smile with pleasure.

Quiet down and crack down on obedience,
She’ll be stolen away from the thief,
And genuinity will be pulled from a hat.
