Buried Alive

Buried Alive

A Poem by Sexy P3nguin

I Open My Eyes But All I See Is Darkness

I Realize I Am Buried But Still Breathing

I Am Not Ready For My Life TO Be A Continous Absence

Its Already Hard To Breath In This Clostrophobic Setting

Panic Sets In Quikly, Screaming Although No One Can Hear

Unsure Of What Will Happen If I Dig Myself Out

Thoughts Of The Afterlife Are Filling Me With Fear

Knowing I Am Weak And Wont Escape, No Doubt

Screamed Until My Voice Is Now Non-Exsitant

I Will Not Let This Maple Coffin Be My Resting Place

Seeing The Sky When I Close My Eyes, So Distant

I Must Be Calm, I Neead A Slow Steady Pace

No Room To Move As I Claw My Way To Life

I See No Opening Only Blood From My Fingertips

My Fingernails Not Nearly As Sharp As A Knife

Again Panic Sets In As I Punch The Wood, More  Blood Drips

At Last I See Grands Of Sand Fall One By One

I Contine To Punch Faster And Harder, The Pain Brings Tears

With Hope In My Heart I Tell Fate I Will See The Sun

With Adrineline In My Veins I Have No Fears

The Wood Finally Gives Into To Six Feet Of Nature

I Claw And Climb Through The Cold Soil

I Made It This Far I Will Beat Death For Sure

Pulling Myself Out And Onto The Grass, There Is No More Termoil

To My Feet I Make It But Barley Standing

I Look Forward And See My Fathers Soul

He Always Had Fathe In Me, I Begin Hugging

Taking His Hand As We Begin Our Stroll

Dustin,
I love how you have captured the image so perfectly of what it feels like to get buried alive, and what it's
like trying frantically to get out. What it feels like to be so close to death, staring it in the eyes, and
how one little shred of hope can drive you so far, get you so determined. You did a wonderful job
painting a picture for the writers and making them wonder if he'll make it out. You did a fantastic job on
getting the blood pumping through the readers veins. Well written piece you have written here.

All the best,
Mimi

Moved me to sadness. I think about my father all the time. If only I can be so lucky to make it where he dwells...Your poem is very emotional and full of the description it takes to keep the attention. Great read....
