Gaping River

Gaping River

A Poem by Dindella

River, river by the sea
Don't you hear my cries?
River, river won't you be
The one big surprise?

River, river wash my tears.
River, river please.
I hear the white wash in my ears,
Why is all you do is tease?

Oh river, river, my river, please
Your stride is so long,
Surely you have advice for me?
River, river I am so far gone.

Oh river, I am in pain.
So hear me now, okay?
I'm not sure I'm here to stay
In your kingdom by the spray.
