Gaping Kingdom

Gaping Kingdom

A Poem by Dindella

I was born on a castle by the sea,
A castle as big and broad as a beast,
And a mouth so gaping wide
It swallowed its people,
It swallowed its pride,
It swallowed the world's new steeple.
I'll be buried in this castle's mouth.
Come and see, come and see,
The empress buried by the sea.
Come and see, come and be
The last queen's visitee.
