Somehow

Somehow

A Poem by Dindella

The moon is sweet against my skin,
Silver light illuminating my closed pores and marinading me in sparkling tears.
A bath of peace and sweat so sweet it devoids my heart of sin
And from my lungs escapes a luminescent sigh like mirrors.
I hug my arms close to my body, a delicate mummy-style, to let the feeling in,
And step forward into the sparkling, cool pool before me, becoming a figure
Of grace and serenity, with water lapping around my life-given skin.
Every step a breathe closer to my own admirer.
A hint of my own reflection like polished glass, a twin,
And how I ever gave up on her I’ll never know with a heart so lacking of fire.
Leaning down, I kissed my lips to her face, wondering where she’d been.
What is this that left me so far away from here? A holy terror.
With what my soul had, what but once, been to akin,
A stretcher-bearer, but so far from superior.
But now I know, with the sound of the jungle mountain-side around me and my heart in a broad grin:
That I… even after all this faded time… love her.
Somehow.

Author's Note

Dindella
The meaning is entirely up to you and I'd love to hear what your translation is, why it means something to you or why it doesn't. The more in-depth the better, but that doesn't mean you have to write something really long and depthy if you don't want to. I appreciate any and all reviews. <3 I plan to some day make a career out of my writing, so I want my writing to be the best it can be and every comment or review will help me reach that goal.
