JourneyA Poem by DindellaAnother repost from DA ( http://dindellathedefender.deviantart.com/art/Journey-POEM-396534098 ), so everyone here can see it too.It doesn’t matter where you are, Inside, outside, stand afar, Embrace yourself for the day, Stand faraway, And don’t let go, Just let it snow, It’ll all melt away, Someday. That’s what they say anyways, Piled high in thick, morbid coats and baggage of steel, Left low and wet in some make-shift igloo five miles to the South, Or was it North? Nobody knows. Lost in the pages of a map in some tongue nobody knows what to say, Like one day we’ll stare at it so long we’ll make a huge steal, Just grab it and go for the gold hidden under the mattress on the couch Back home. But that’s fool’s gold as this journey can’t be made by oneself, Or perhaps it can, I wouldn’t know, Staring at the millions of miles of bookshelves Wondering where I went wrong and hoping I’ve done something fruitful, Advantageous, profitable, respectable, but knowing in all aspects I’d be lying to myself. No skills to contribute to the great survival of mankind, so Once we go off the deep end, walking down the dark pathways, and delve Into what we learned it’s too late for us to go back to school, But what do I know? It’s all or nothing, like some of us wake up one day stronger then anyone else, Injected with Kryptonite or reading the first page in the Book of Shadows, Granted powers far above what anyone could tell, And everyone else is just a shadow of a shadow of a light source shining over our toes, A distance measured so much in feet we can’t keep walking to make it.
