WHERE WE COME FROMA Poem by Dina DarlingWhere we come from The sky is never blue Nor is it black, just in between Solemn gray shelters our dying trees Where we come from We never see the sun It's shining over someone else's head I wish it could shine down on mine Where we come from The thunder is our guide Waking us from restless sleep Tugging at our minds that tomorrow may not be coming Where we come from lightning shields our eyes Blinding us as our sign for all the things we do wrong Where we come from We hear the Angel's laughing Just because we will never be as innocent as they Where we come from Fire chases our dreams Burning them to ashes Ripping apart what little hope we ever had Where we come from It's always raining Lost souls gathering sorrow in the puddles Reflecting the image of a saddened face Where we come from We're always alone Wasted by frightened hearts Where we come from We're afraid we won't survive Where we come from We are not the chosen ones
