Ether

Ether

A Poem by D. Nelson
"

This is intended to be very syllabic, as is most of my writing, just a note, as it might help in reading it.

"

Fork in the road, I should have went right, but I still left,

Never cynical- a realist- I see the world for what it is- clinical,

Put that in your news-paper or commercial,

I am personal, me versus the world but I am out of it-

I'm critical, silently posed just like pouted lips or silent words,

Feel this, grasp this and figure out what is wrong with it,

roll it in your hands and handle it, understand it and weight it-

I have rambled but this is just a sample- an example,

I do not believe I will be rid of them- my based is exposed, sandals.

There silent cries are what I give to them, but I'm not giving in.

Simpleton, hot, burning, drip like candles-

Wax her, giggle, I am a factor and I come after A-

Liar like a Bee comes after flowers nectar-

See me, laughter, hear her, rapture-

Master, liar, actor. I'm an on-fire-fighter,

I stay righteous by design and spark lyrical refinement-

Like a lighter, I am physically hot, like a fever,

sight-seer, and I am needed- now watch me melt into the ether.

Either, or I-there, I am there, beside her.

Wide-screen vision, taking all of it in like adrenaline,

dilation and vivacious women and forever simple rhythm, her-

Vexatious prisoner, and were I there on time the last time,

I would have seen the reaper coming- but neither something-

nor nothing could have saved me for the un-loving-

end, rubbing off, faded, forever cursed I am for running.
