For NightA Poem by D. NelsonIf you wait for me I promise I will not disappoint, wont see them stare, we watch them point, watch their faces red, call that medium rare. Ask me if I care... My love is like herpes- You may not always see it, but it's always right there. I read it in her face, but I cant see her blush- skin the same color as her hair- and I call her my contrasting color - the rest just don't compare. It's everlasting, call her forever, she is my diamond in the rough and I would love to cut her, But blood is not enough, I think I need her tears for supper. I never meant to hurt her, she cured me, maybe I thought it made her tougher. Get it? Not likely, she might be the lady but mainly shes my Nightengale, she shines so bright I can't see her face like wearing a wedding veil, and I'm a knight in there, call me Lancelot, a little birdie told me like nightingale, she wants to see me frequently but I can't a lot, so I have late nights a lot. And I ask her if it's fair, then I pluck her pedals and tell her forget me not, she says “Never, not in a million years.” She elevates me, space man, so high you can never see me - and up there I Dream a Genie - rub her, and see if she will appear. © 2010 D.
