The Next

The Next

A Poem by D. Nelson
"

just thoughts spilled on paper

"

Enthralled my soul is

with its own existence,

forever encircling itself

with unwanted consistency

of the unwavering truth

of its own eventually demise.

Confounding irreverence

within itself and among my mind.

Piercing my thoughts

like a hawk through the sky,

ever hastening across the

expansive threshold of failure

that encompasses the space elevated

above my woven plains of discontent,

dotted interminably by the glassy

green tinged ponds of self denial

that propagate the deceitful world

of my imagination from which

spat forth are my rambling

thoughts and notations.

Existing in the minute space

between this world and the next,

acting as a gate for the thoughts

not meant for this world to pass.

This world soon will close,

leaving only I to wander the

expansive remnants of a once great cosmos

that was only just being revealed unto

the world and its many inhabitants.

Readied it was to break ranks,

and merge seamlessly

with the hearts and the minds

of my fellows,

and so with them their own divided

and self explanatory destinations

only they themselves could reach.

The last part ties up too vaguely for me...perhaps you could clarify...is it that each of us has our own paths and thus our own versions of this garden of ideas? And our stories, like this one are like rationalizations, or weak shadows of the reality of the truth. We are all unique in this...I think this is what you're getting at right?
Super concept and interesting to ponder and puzzle over.

"Readied it was to break ranks,
and merge seamlessly
with the hearts and the minds
of my fellows,.."

Beyond our earthly existence,
and upon our death here we merge
back into the single spirit from which
we came... as one again.
IF... we died with that faith in mind...
playing on that energy
field and not that of true death...
the death of spirit.

I could be waaay off... but that's what I read.
This is a definitely a mind twister and
a well crafted piece!! I'll have to read it
over a few more times....

excellent!
