ObliviousA Poem by Emma DeBoerWritten in 2010
She held me close & cradled me in her soft, fatigued arms.
My father was gone. My sister was sedated. I was young and oblivious to her depression. Eleven years pass, she held her knees to her chest with her cold thin arms. My brother was gone. I was sedated. She was old, & oblivious to my possession. © 2013 Emma DeBoer |
