I could not love you today

I could not love you today

A Poem by Digvijay Singh

I wonder what winter must feel where you are
I could not ask you last time we met
I do remember your songs but
I could not ask your new favourites
I memorized your touch, on palm and skin but
I could not see you in dreams
I saw a young wild Rose to bloom for lovers and
I could not love you today

Hmmm?
Thinking on this…

I wonder if love can turned back on or even off at all.
I think it lives or dies. It is or is not.

And then again, we need more words for love in this language. Ha. It does help to write poetry with so much ambiguity.

Thank you for sharing.

I enjoyed the read.

Scott.

There is something holding back the poet from his object of love.
He is trying hard to take her in, memorize her touch and yet again, unable to see her in his dreams.
Perhaps, a fear of heartbreak....?
Because he perceives a beautiful rose but cannot love her today.
A very fascinating poem with a touch of intrigue. Human emotions can be so complex sometimes. Loved this read!
