(ME-YOU)

(ME-YOU)

A Poem by Digvijay Singh

Translation:

ME-YOU

I roam every night in search of your fragrance
Then sleep curled in the same blanket we shared

Often i turn back on my alone walks
That's how much i have soaked you in my skin

Yes, you parted yourself miles from me
i still sit in that same past evening with you

I can too, look at the darling moon
And remember my past lovers
Only if you vamoose my thoughts blank for once.

Thanks Manya 💙
First, I admire you for being able to write poetry in more than one language. I think maybe you do better when you write in your first language, then translate! Your sentiments feel deeper & your imagery is stronger than what I remember reading from you. Thank you for taking the time to translate for english-speakers! I love your "twist" at the end, going from deeply serious (most of your poem) to being a little flippant (I could remember other people if you'd get of my head!) . . . (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

i write in Hindi quite often but there's just not as many readers. It's good to hear this from you. .. read more
When I focus, there is such a beautiful sadness in the second line, "then sleep curled in the same blanket we shared." You roam every night in search of her fragrance and then find it in the blanket you shared. While there should be a sadness in the parting, I find nothing but beauty in these words. It's the love that resounds. Well penned!

Thank you Linda💙
interesting to see it in your language.
i like how it translates...there are those past loves...we don't forget what we shared with them, and why should we.
it is poetry that remembers them....they show up in our words.
