CASTLE OF MY LOVE

CASTLE OF MY LOVE

A Poem by Digvijay Singh

Where should i walk
If not the garden of your love?

If not your favorites,
What songs i must hum?

The blue sky or rainbow doesn't
hover me but just your thoughts.

I remember the red evening sun on
your face by the beach as we walk.

July rain playing with your skin
while you circle and dance heedlessly.

I have made a castle with
sundry colors of my abiding love
And i shall live here.

Alrightie, the first poem I get to read is one of love, nice!

I get a touch of approval in the first 4 lines, as the speaker asks where they should walk and what should they hum.

The speaker finds the thoughts of the other person to be beautiful as it replaces things like a rainbow.

As I got into the second half, could this love be a memory?
A love that has not yet faded since a castle has been built in it’s memory.

Now I think that that day was just a memory, but perhaps the love is still strong and persisting that a castle was built to represent it even if there are a mix of feelings (sundry of colors).

It’s been a while reading into other poems, so it’s a long way back in, thank you for the amazing read.

I don't usually like romantic poems, but this one took me in & led me along the path of your message with an element of suspense. I had no idea where this love story was going or how all the details in your poem would connect, but in the end, everything fit together under the "castle" theme. I love how "castle" symbolizes a sandcastle on the beach AND a secret hiding place near the narrator's heart. I really enjoy the way you show your imagery (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thank you choosen (if that is your name)
This makes me think of warm summer evenings in the UK, walking on our local beach hand in hand with my love. Very evocative words.

It sounds like love, the kind that makes your heart race whenever you feel the presence of the one you love. I am whisked away whenever I read you, Digvijay.
