SO FAR. SO STRAIGHT.

SO FAR. SO STRAIGHT.

A Poem by Digvijay Singh

I have come so far,
On the path of your love.
I know no other way.
So far, so straight.

I am less mine and more of this road now.
It has smell of your air,
All the dusk and dawn here
remind me of your face.
On this path
I rest in your shadow.
On this path
I walk in moon light.

I ask love from things of
world that's never been loved.
From the flower that never bloomed.
From the sea that never met her moon.
From flies circling the fire just to die.
I ask love from my dreams,
To love you cosmically.

I walk on the path of your love,
Simply because I know no other way.

Your poem reminds me of a phenomenon of old age . . . many people my age have been divorced or a spouse has died, so they are out looking for new romance. The problem is, after a longterm relationship, it feels like this other person is still very much steeped in the life that they had shared together. It feels almost impossible for someone new to have a central role in a person's mind when that mind is still very much involved in remembering decades of some other relationship. This is one of your best poems that I've read -- strong msg & creative wordcrafting (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
