I have come so far,

On the path of your love.

I know no other way.

I am less mine and more of this road now.

All the dusk and dawn here

world that's never been loved.

From flies circling the fire just to die.

Your poem reminds me of a phenomenon of old age . . . many people my age have been divorced or a spouse has died, so they are out looking for new romance. The problem is, after a longterm relationship, it feels like this other person is still very much steeped in the life that they had shared together. It feels almost impossible for someone new to have a central role in a person's mind when that mind is still very much involved in remembering decades of some other relationship.
