IF YOU CAN EVER LOVE

IF YOU CAN EVER LOVE

A Poem by Digvijay Singh

Ways we looked in each other's eyes,
Now you say those times were fictitious.

All those songs we hummed unintentionally,
"Just words you were used to then?"

Touch of your all skin with all mine,
How can you say that fusion was just hourly?

I let you the deepest in my heart.
"Oh, you just wanted few night's shelter there?"

My dear, If you can fraud it all so well,
I wonder, if you can ever love.

I found this impactful - it made me reflect, which is what my favourite writing makes me do.
Nicely done. I found the last four lines absolutely exceptional.

Your poem hits a familiar spot with me. I love the way your questioning is so pointed, so full of passion & incredulity. In my youth, I had many advantages & I took many young men for a ride of emotions. Your poem is what they were probably saying to me, after I kicked dirt in their teeth & danced away with the next guy. You seem to twist a word here & there, ex: "that fusion was just hourly" . . . and "you can fraud it all so well" . . . I like the interesting & unusual way such twists sound . . . it's a unique sound of your own. This writing feels very authentic, like you've really been thru this (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

What it is if not a heartbreak that makes a poet. Though, I'm not saying I'm one. I just try. Thanks.. read more
