DIFFERENT WORLD

DIFFERENT WORLD

A Poem by Digvijay Singh

We were in pieces, me and her

in our two completely different worlds.

I woke up every morning around 6am

and she, somewhere close to six ten.

Both missing someone to share the bed tea.

I brush while she's still in bed

but again, in a completely different world.

As I run the butter knife on my toasted bread,

Her’s pops up out from a toaster coloured red.

Hour after hour, the day passed by.

Oh! So many missed kisses, so many unslept nights.

Just because, you know, two world never rhymed.

With all ‘perfect’ after so many years

Sitting in my chair on an evening fine

I picked my glass and she picked her wine

And we emptied our glasses ‘together’

But yes, still, in two completely different worlds.
