A Chapter by Kathrina

Sloane stayed up half the night to finish reading the journal. She crept down the hallway and to the last door on the left before the grand staircase to her brother's room.

 "Sam," She hissed.

She heard him drop his iPod on the ground, curse quietly, and pull on a shirt. He threw open the door.

Sloane handed him the journal. "Okay, so, maybe you have a point." She said.

"So, why don't we test this theory on how to get there?"

"How are we going to get from here all the way to Jame's Market?" Jame's Market was a very old, creepy store. They sold creepy things that people who think they are psychic would find normal.

"Easy," Sam said as he pulled on his black zip up hoodie. "It's not that far."

Sloane groaned. She walked back to her room and grabbed her black hoodie and slid into her Converse.

They skipped across the yard, feeling like little kids planning to run away instead of fifteen year old twins.

"So, do you think this is going to work?" Sloane asked.

 "Well, I don't know. I think maybe...if it's true..."

"It seemed to...tied together to be a story. Like, you could tell the person writing it was really feeling this and going through this."

"Yeah. It could explain some things."

"Laurie will be jealous." They both laughed.

 ***

Sloane grabbed Sam's hand as they opened the door to Jame's Market.

"You two?" The owner said. He was tall and middle aged. His hair was short and black with wisps of grey.

 Sloane looked at Sam.

 "We need to..."

"Need to get somewhere?" The owner flashed a smile. His teeth were perfect and bright white. He led them to the back to a set of large wooden doors that were locked.

Sloane stopped breathing as he opened the doors to reveal what seemed to be a balcony overlooking a beautiful town. In the distance, you could see more towns and beautiful seas.

The owner smiled. "You guys have never been there, eh?"

 "N-no." Sloane stuttered.

"Well, go on. And have fun. But, be careful...it's getting a little..."

 Sam led them in.

***

Sloane found that they were in a library.

"Sam?" Sloane called. Sam was nowhere near her. "Sammy?"

She walked out of the library to a large hall.

"C'mon..." She ran down the hall. "Samuel?"

Someone caught her arm and pulled her behind a large statue.

A scream got caught in her throat.

"Shh." A boy with short brown hair and bright green eyes peeked out as tall kids walked by. "Don't you know not to just run around here?"

 "I-"

"You're new, eh?" He smiled. "Welcome to Legend City."

 "Thanks?"

"So, you're looking for someone?" They walked out from behind the statue and carefully walked down the hall.

 "Yeah, my twin brother, Samuel."

 "Twin?"

 "Oh, you know about that?"

"Everyone knows." He gave her a sheepish smile. "It's like famous here."

"Oh..." She shrugged. "Well, I'm Sloane."

 "I'm Brandon."

 "So this is real..."

"Yeah. So I guess you don't have a house or family or anything here?"

"Not that I know of. I mean, unless the Smith's-"

"There's only one Smith family and that's the Smith family." He smiled. "You do have a house. It was left to the next wizards in the family."

 "What?"

"Come on, you'll wanna see Mr. Hedding."

 ***

"Sam, I think your sister is here." Said a rough voice.

Sloane and Brandon burst through the doors to a round office full of weird things. A man was leaning up against a large desk talking to Sam. Sam was smiling bigger than ever.

 "Sloane!" Sam stood up.

 "Sam..."

 "We're them! It's true!"

 "What?"

 "That journal was right. We're...we're..."

"Wizards," The man said. "Welcome to our world."
