The Primrose Path

The Primrose Path

A Poem by Diella Notsu Eret
"

---

"
The odious scent wafts
From the bedroom floor
something mixed between an undistinguished bodily fluid
And a brutal liquor

The bed-springs sigh as weight is shifted
From left to right
Bare flesh spreads across the ground
A blanket of pinks and tans

glass litters the floor
a product of some abandoned argument
A high-heel lays forgotten
An unlit cigarette hangs from the lips of a tattooed face

No one budges
And for a moment
The dilapidated scene
resembles the work of a demented artist

Life is a blank canvas and we are our own artists. We will always carry our brush of destiny in our own hands. Great concept. I enjoyed it.
