The Artists Burden

The Artists Burden

A Poem by D. L. Vaccaro
"

from October 2006

"
I can paint my thoughts onto your world,
But can I tell you what's my deal?
I can hear the voices of your mind,
But can I prove that I am real?
I can feel the pain you try to hide,
But even your wounds I cannot heal.
I can touch your guarded heart,
But my feelings I cannot reveal.
I can swim inside your mind's eye,
But I cannot force you to kneel.
I can die a thousand deaths for you,
But you'd never how I feel.
