Love, Honestly

Love, Honestly

A Poem by D. L. Vaccaro
"

"
Wake up and feel you next to me,
This is where I always want to be.
Foot over foot, arm over arm,
I'll protect you from every harm.

Love is sharing a moment together,
Hopeful that it will last forever.
Honesty is intimacy behind closed doors,
Not something shared with a w***e.

You look into my soul as the bells toll,
My feelings for you take their toll.
I'd give anything to make this moment last
For all eternity, night without past.

Love is knowing that your the only one,
The only one to kiss her under the sun.
Honesty is knowing that life is changing,
Hopeful promises from lover's exchanging.

Feel your heart beat against mine,
Notice that they pulsate in time.
Even our hearts are united,
Why would we want to fight the tide?

Love is living life knowing that you're out there,
Not having to always worry if and where.
Honesty is feeling the truth in my heart,
And both of us pursuing, doing our part.

"Even our hearts are united,
Why would we want to fight the tide?"
The mystery of love. With age I know less then when I was young. I like your thoughts in this poem. Last line is always the real question. Always take two to tangle. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.
