I Feel (Are You?)

I Feel (Are You?)

A Poem by D. L. Vaccaro
"

from 2005

"
Open your mind and prepare to be free,
Close your mouth and for once actually see me.
Remember the spring with spouts of green,
Forget the winter when I was mean.
Don't listen to what the man said,
Decide your the one who will make your own bed.

Blazing Eyes Recall circumstances lifetimes forgot.
Burning Questions rattle off paranoia that rots.
Bumbling Synthesized emotions roll off office conveyor belts.
Begging Answers of what is real or fake that I felt.

Consume me, beat me, degrade me, slaughter me,
What can you do to me that hasn't already been fun?
Take the flame, and set me in the fires of Hell's fury.
Take My soul, take my heart, blow my mind with a gun.

Familiar faces in distant mirrors, Are they coming nearer?
The places of youth slip into the crevices of my truth.
Mindless the drones consume like locusts on the moon.
Set the background to clear and steer me away from here

Are you listening? Are you feeling? Are you seeing? Are you being?
Realize self and the world you built all around you.
Thoughts are the foundation to your existence.
Are you listening to me? Are you feeling me? Are you seeing me? Are you being me?
