Yahweh

Yahweh

A Poem by D. L. Vaccaro
"

I AM

"
I am sorry I can't be the kind of man you wanted me to be.
I can only be the kind of man that I am.
I am sorry I put duty and love over principles and all that jazz.
It's how I was raised, it's who I am.
I am sorry for being so far away, when I need to be close by.
But funds are tight, it's where I am.
I am sorry that I wasn't what you expected me to be.
My soul was bare, it's the way I am.
I am sorry that I confused you by striving to please you,
It's my nature, it's what I am.
I am sorry that I nitpick and argue over trivial things,
I'm stubborn and petty, it's how I am.
I am sorry that I lack any superstition or magic in my life.
Cold logic: it's why I am.
I am sorry if you should come across and read this poem.
Because it's me, it's a composite of all I am.

I like this poem. I believe never be sorry for who you are. We are built by life and experience. Hard to change someone on a destine path. No weakness in the poem. Just honest and direct words. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.

You know who you are and no one should try to change it. I love the person you are.....beautifully and honestly written.
