Belly FlopA Poem by D. L. Vaccaro
A chorus of laughter in silk sheets
Ta-da! Another pulled off deception Birthing a wheeze and sandpaper skin, Destroy every bit of my excessive ways. Learning to age, in an age full of monkeys. Jump rope and hopscotch on social networks. All-I-Ever-Wanted held up like a carrot. Sixteen carat hell, consume me entirely. Bred to jump passenger cars, Instincts transmit to cling tightly. Evaporate the residue of a lost dream, Mis-timed jumps result in belly flops. © 2014 D. L. Vaccaro
