Gaza

Gaza

A Poem by D. L. Vaccaro

Rubble in the streets, explosions.
Blood on concrete, contusions.
Rockets hit the schools, execution.
Families in the streets, confusion.

Gaza, it was a,
Stripped down to your foundations.
Gaza, oh Gaza,
Enslaved by the illegal occupation.

Blockade blocking medicine, collusion,
Trade and power cut off, seclusion.
Food has to be smuggled in, exclusion.
Not enough supplies for a blood transfusion.

Gaza, it was a,
Stripped down to your foundations.
Gaza, oh Gaza,
Enslaved by the illegal occupation.

They took their land and beat them down,
Drove families from their homes.
Genocide is the only description to be found,
As we count up the dead by their tombs.

Children in the graves, disillusion.
Troops on the march, intrusion.
Peace in the Middle East, delusion.
How can there be any just conclusion?

Gaza, it was a,
Stripped down to your foundations.
Gaza, oh Gaza,
Enslaved by the illegal occupation.
