Lockdown

Lockdown

A Poem by Dianne S Penfold
"

About my feeling through this pandemic and quarantining.

"
Time has stopped
The rat race paused
The silence commenced
What a ripple this caused.
The world outside
Now out of bounds
We're stuck in our bubble
Coping with fading sounds.
Every familiar voice
Has vanished, has gone.
Our home now our prison
Oh what have we done?
We're hiding from people
Contagion on the loose
We're keeping our distance
But not from the noose.
Slowly we are dying
From virus and isolation
We are in a new phase
Can there be a solution?
Maybe its the beginning
of a different life.
But don't run from the needle
and instead into the knife.
