DescentA Poem by Diane a cold, unyielding reality against my skin. an unwelcome rush….. heat. familiar ground gives way and I stumble, shivering, to my knees as knowing, needy hands reach deep into a darkness I can barely acknowledge and boundaries, once so assuredly safe, are now betrayed, shattered and strewn across this now ever-changing landscape. I’m laid bare as monsters, both within and without, tear rapaciously at my mind and flesh, an insidious invasion, ripping away at the me I once knew. a bitter seduction. I watch in horror as a metamorphosis takes place. © 2013 Diane |
