A Hearts Amnesty

A Hearts Amnesty

A Poem by Diane Valterra
"

One of my many poems that I am deciding on for my next book...

"

When the sands of the morning light settles upon the dew laden grass sparkling in the early light,

Our hearts sing with the promise of a bright horizon ahead that fills our soul with song,

We join the merriment of an anticipated day with the birds crooning the sounds of hope and joy,

The fragrance of new wonder surrounds us as the dawn busts into life with the glowing warmth of noonday,

With a brilliant sun to guide our way and the experience of yesterday clearing our passage along the avenue of life,

We find the un-traveled road set ahead of us filled with the luster of challenges that we eagerly approach with desire,

The world has opened its doors once more to welcome us and to renew our will to continue onward,

Inner peace takes us over as we step through the gateway, leaving the past behind, to the fresh adventure in front of us,

We are traveling to unspoiled horizons, taking chances that once frightened us, most of all we are approaching the end of our search,

As we enter the doorway we find we have had the strength all along to follow our dreams, to drink from the well of life,

Our hearts can fly freely and feel the warmth of the sun giving us the light to find our passageway home,

The way home to where we have always belonged, only never looked to see it was just ahead beckoning us return,

Happiness, love, contentment now finds us with the light of day fading to dusk that bids us rest now,

We may now rise to the ever-awaiting destiny before us, for we have walked through the doorway of inner amnesty.
