Making History

Making History

A Poem by Dianah
"

About the first moon landing from a child's viewpoint.

"

The moon peered over the horizon
And hung low in the evening sky
Before rising above the garages.

While the children ran around
I stopped and gazed, mesmerized
By the moons mysterious face.

Wishing I had telescopic eyes
To see the men walking
On the moon making history.

So many moon myths and tales
dissolved as this barren land
was captured in black and white.

I would never look up into
the moon's cratered face
through innocent eyes again.

When I am a man, I will be an astronaut
and find Peter Pan.' Kate Bush

I like my innocent eyes, I"ll keep my wonder I guess, lovely writing though, it's good to make us think . . .

Nice. It really does capture the wonder in a young child's mind. I'm no poet, so I can't really offer any suggestions for improvement, as I like it the way it is anyway. Good job. Thanks for reviewing my story.
