Battle of Formby Dunes

Battle of Formby Dunes

A Poem by Dianah
"

Thoughts by the seaside...

"

She stood staring out to the horizon
on the tallest dune surveying the territory
that stretched out before her.

This was her world, she felt like she owned it
until the granulated ground dispersed
grain by grain, she slowly sunk into it's majesty.

The Earth had won the battle...

She surrendered, slumped in it's glory
and laid down her arms
on the warm sand and thought about

The power and persistance
of the elements which gradually  ground
down the rocks beneath her.

She could build a kingdom here
and it would be washed away
by the triumphant tide.

The Earth had won the battle...

She bowed to the setting sun
Accepted she was just a small part
Of the system.A serf in the sand.

What difference could she make?
What difference could we make
if we gathered together like grains of sand?

The Earth had won the battle...
but could it win the war?

Gack! This was incredible. I loved it. It really makes me think. (Which is my highest compliment, so be grateful) good job with this. Keep moving forward about it.
