Almost certainly, the tin cans in this poem, are a metaphor for the cars of tourists! As a cyclist, I suspect that the writer is no friend of the car? Particularly, if faced by the terrible congestion etc, which is probably being brought to her area of England - by this seemingly unstoppable army!
Well, the title reminded me a little of Andy Warhol's famous artistic exhibit (which also featured tin cans). In style, this is slightly similar to a few of Tzedequiel's poems (on this site). I wondered, if this form of poetry falls into a specific category? Either way, it is surrealistic in the main, and I remain a true fan! Thankyou, for sharing this with us!
