Words blossom and fall...

THE LIFE OF WORDS

I followed the words in my head
to a land were they were not dead.
They rose out of the ground
and grew into bigger words
they flew on the wings of poesy
on thermals with birds
then dropped on the flowers
like fresh summer showers
and fell with the leaves on the Autumn breeze
to be covered with snow buried deep below
the sacred earth, who then gave birth
to them in spring, what a glorious thing.
Words worth more than money can buy
filling me up like sweet apple pie.

See, I knew those words did more than they let on! In all seriousness, I enjoyed reading this and seeing what the words mean to you. I don't think there's any serious writer on this site who isn't affected by words. We all love them and just think they're wonderful. This poem certainly manages to capture that love. Thank you for sharing this.
