A surreal poem about the intensity of painting

PART OF  THE ART

I watched you become
immersed in paint 
as you poured out your heart
onto the canvas 
I became intoxicated
with the colours penetrating your skin
pulling you in to another dimension
your irritation subsided as I rushed
to see you slide further in
bewildered but content
to be part of your art
replaced in the canvas
as your muse was set free.

You are no longer part of the art...
you are whole.
