A poem about the birth of a New Angel of Death (The Atomic Bomb)

TRINITY

Born in the New Mexican desert
on the 16th of July,1945
they called her Trinity
a freak of nature
three heads are better than one
Her explosive temprament
smashed through
the silence, her cry
ripped through muted throats
a sonic bomb so loud
rang in the ears of the deaf
a flashing light so bright
it pierced the blind man's eyes.
A new Angel of Death was born
as the fabric of life was torn.

Could we repair it?

She came into this world
to warn mankind.
One flick of a switch
and we could be dead meat
or freaks of nature.
Her birth hailed a new era
and new fears mushroomed
out of control.
Out of this desert nightmare
a tribe emerged who lay down
all weapons,their message spreading
like wildfire burning holes in fear
releasing white origami birds of peace
into the dark clouds of destruction.

Loved this!!! Your wording is straightforward on this topic. The flow is incredible, the imagery is awesome. The play on the era that "mushroomed" from this was dark humor at its best.

This will be going in my favorites.

Very nice... I find I have a hard time indulging in the beauty of much of the poetry I read lately, but this is very beautiful. Keep it humble. Me? I will continue to browse through your writing on this idle night.
