Dream Brother

Dream Brother

A Poem by Dianah

Poem inspired by the singer/songwriter Jeff Buckley including some song titles.

DREAM BROTHER (Jeff Buckley)

Lullabies of love

Sooth the savage beast

I feed, tonight, at your feast,

Rising and falling into your sighs.

While Dream brother sleeps

In a cold deep ocean

Frozen in time

Taken too soon

Like the waning moon

In dark shadows.

I drink lilac wine, unrefined

To remember

Your words like love potions

Absorbed deep inside

As you glide through emotions

Cloaked in grace

Eternity waited in the wings

You drank the elixir

That Fate brings.

I'm a Buckley fan as well. This was a beautifully written and well conceived tribute. To a lyrical master, and an excellent musical arranger...well, reconstructionist really.

Great piece!

Cheers!
