10. A New World

Chapter Ten: Raven

I felt so out of place with my hairstyle and clothing. I assume JJ felt the same way when we bypassed people. When we got to the castle that my mother was taking us to, many people greeted us but gave us odd looks.

 

" Geez. This feels like a fairy tale! Just look at us! Who would've guess two 'emo' styled guys would end up being from a place like middle-earth!" JJ indicated.

 

" I know... It's so weird. But here we are."

 

What are the chances, if at all, two 'emo' guys come from the 13th century? None. For some reason it would feel more real if we were 'normal'? .

 

I walked around the room we were to wait in. It was so beautiful. I should see the whole 'kingdom' from the window. It took hours to process it all. To make sure I was awake.

 

My mother came to get us in the evening. We were going to get another 'makeover' to look more like people of the 13th century.

 

 The outfit that was chosen for me was... um... interesting.My bangs were pulled back and out of my face, same for JJ.

 

" There we go. Take a look." The servant girl said and held her hand out to a mirror.

 

JJ hesitated when he saw himself. It was like something you'd see in Lord of the Rings. It all was. Every bit of this place.

 

" You look great." JJ compliments me with a smile

" Not bad yourself." I reply

 

When we are seated around the dining table my mother tells JJ and I everything.

 

" Not long ago, the Dark Ones threatened our lands. We fought as much as we could. But the Dark Ones were to powerful and took over many villages. No one has ever seen there faces. We knew we could not hold out any longer. That is why I have been going into both of your dreams, to convince you to come here. Only you can call out the strongest army and win against the Dark Ones."

 

"How can we call an army powerful enough to defeat the Dark Ones?" I ask

 

She smiles " With you magic of course. The same magic you began to discover back in the 21st Century." She replied

 

" Your our only hope. You must believe in yourselves."

I sit on the terrace after dinner and watch the stars. I wonder if people are still looking for us. If their still doing news broadcasts. I looked through the doorway at JJ. He was sitting at the table. Clearly writing everything that was happening. 

" Hey JJ, Do you think we'll ever get back home?" I ask

Personally, I don't care to go home, since my mother is here, but JJ has his sister, little brother, and grandparents who will be so frantic to find him. My parents will be glad I'm finally gone. 

He shrugs and turns to me. " I don't want to go home now. I want to live here with you. I want to help this world." 

I smile and stand in front of him and put my arms around his neck and he wraps his arms around my waist. 

" I want to stay here too. It feels right, being here, y'know." I tell him

" Yeah, it does. But we have work to do to fit in." He says

I nod. " That may take a while." I reply with a grin

He pulls me down into him so i'm sitting on his lap and kisses me gently. " I love you so much. I'm so glad to be here with you." He says in a small voice

I smile again. " Me too."

When I awake the next morning, i'm glad to know that I seriously had not dreamt it all. Next to me there's a note from JJ

Raven, I got up earlier to begin practicing with our mentor. When you wake up join us in the courtyard.

I get changed and run down to the courtyard. Like he said, they were there in the courtyard practicing. 

" Raven!" JJ calls waving a hand. 

I go over to them and he hands me a sword. The mentor isn't looking at the moment, he has his back to us and is talking to somebody. When he turned around he froze in place and stared at me. 

Did I look odd to him? I fidgeted, it was awkward... 

" Um. Hi, I'm Raven, Queen Dawn's son." I greet warmly

" Oh yeah, Uh, I'm Maikin. The swordsman instructor." He reply's in a jumble " So, I was just showing Jessie-Jasper the basics...."

We practiced most of the morning. The sword I got was really cool. 

Apparently, this sword has been used throughout my family line for centuries. Maikin told us we had exceptional swordsman skills for beginners. 

The rest of the week was busy busy busy, learning there languages, history, strengths, weakness's, and war lines. It was a lot to take in, but I managed to remember it all. 

This new life we've started, is the best thing ever. I love it here and I want to be here the rest of my life, with JJ.
